FIER – International Fair of Renewable Energies and Sustainability

FIER is an International Fair of Renewable Energies (FIER, by its initials in Spanish) and it’s the first fair to be developed in Argentina, whose objective is congregate different sectors to generate among them or in the general public a closer bond that allows them to expand their business horizon.
FIER was created as an exchange space of technology and innovation for networking and business related to the environmental care and sustainability.
At this time, when humanity is facing patterns changes, it’s quite important the creation of exchange spaces that allow us to develop environmental friendly projects and decarbonization of the economy, where the renewable energies and the sustainable urban solutions are protagonists. 
With this in mind, the main goal of this Fair is create a “Sustainable City” designed so the infrastructure, housing, mobility and green spaces are connected with the appropriate environmental management.

FIER IS TO INFORM, RAISE AWARENESS AND CREATE FUTURE

We inform through simultaneous events, such as:

– Business Round among entrepreneurs of the sector.
– Conferences with specialists, governmental authorities and NOGs.

We raise awareness through free talks and workshops in order to encourage in the community a responsible consumption.

The Paris Agreement establishes that the entire International Community has the commitment to prevent an increase of the global temperature by 2°C for 2050.
This challenge involves urgent actions towards the energetic transition, the decarbonization of the economy and a more sustainable development.
As the world is developing in more and more cities, it’s necessary to think of more connected, integrated, sustainable and centered cities in order to assure the habitants well-being. Therefore, a sustainable development has to associate a social development and economic growing to an adequate environmental management in urban field.  

In a sustainable city the infrastructure, housing, mobility and green spaces must to be created in an urban and territorial planning taking into account the carbon neutral.
The path to carbon neutral implicates, among other actions, the decarbonization of the electric and industrial sector and the transport electrification.

Argentina is joining to the effort diversifying its energetic matrix though renewable sources. The Law number 27.191 of 2015 establishes to reach 20% of electrical national energy consumption by 2025 with renewable sources. 
With the recent sanction made by Regime for the Promotion of Distributed Generation of Renewable Energy Integrated to the Public Electric Network, Law number 27,724 of 2017, the figure of the user-generator is created, which allows all users of the distribution network, self-generate and consume renewable energy, also making possible the injection into the network of its eventual surplus. Residential and industrial users and traders (those who aren’t part of the Wholesale Electricity Market Agents) will be able to self-generate energy with renewable sources.

The transport electrification allows the movement of fossil combustibles preventing Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions getting a better quality in the urban air.
The technology and the economic increase of one change in the transportation sector in a massive level could result in an important transformation in the technologies in a global scale. This implicates possible creation of industrial segments and other alternative energetic vectors with zero emission.
Likewise, the idea of creating a new type of infrastructure means new materials and technologies, designs and engineering in the constructions of urban houses, communications paths, green and common spaces; and all this implicates a permanent sustainable urban innovation.
